GreenCare Reuse, sponsored by the Energy and Environmental Sustainability Team, is a one year pilot project. It is designed to assist Vancouver Coastal Health employees on the VGH campus find and exchange low-value items between departments. Items include:

• Office furniture (e.g. desks, chairs, shelves, file cabinets)
• Office supplies (e.g. binders, file folders, file sorters)
• Lab equipment
• Electronic appliances and equipment

Registered members can post both wanted and available listings.

GreenCare Reuse is part of the Lower Mainland Health Authorities’ overall strategy to reduce its environmental impact. Reusing previously owned materials minimizes waste sent to landfill. It also prevents the need to purchase new items thereby decreasing budgetary expenses.

After one year, based on the results of this pilot, this program will be expanded to include other Health Authority sites.
